Losing your car keys is a frustration that many have gone through. Close the car with the doors inside or the like. The headache this can give is great. But this impasse has its days numbered. Or at least it could be.

That is what the Mobile-Key app aims to do, which can be operated remotely, unlocking the doors and even starting the car. The Israeli manufacturer has created a virtual key, which can be operated remotely from an IOS or mobile app.

The Mobile Key is an electronic control unit installed under the dashboard that interacts with the mobile app via Bluetooth and allows vehicle owners to unlock the doors, open the trunk, turn on the lights and start the car without the need of a physical key, and can work with the phone up to 15 meters from the vehicle.

The technology is not new, the new fact is the arrival of an electronic control unit that can be used in cars that are already in use, particularly cars that use buttons to start, a feature quite common since 2014.

For user security, the application uses 256-bit encryption to prevent possible hackers and has a limit on shares by users. “It is a convenient and affordable solution that will undoubtedly save a lot of money for those forgotten about key duplication,” said Yuval Asaraf, company’s CEO.

Yuval also said that the company intends to launch its product in the next three months in the United States and then in Europe, collaborating with corporate fleets, importers and car rental companies.

Now that the key is no longer needed to enter the vehicles, you cannot lose your cell phone!
