Are you the type of person who gets bothered when your internet signal becomes unstable or just goes down? So you’ve probably dreamed, or still dreams, of an internet that works better so you don’t have to go through these gaps anymore. Arousing interest around the world, 5G technology raises expectations in people about its efficiency and how it will affect our lives. First of all, let’s explain a little more about this technology. Shall we start?

What is 5G Technology?

 It is a new standard for mobile devices that will come with significant changes in the way people use them, with new features and promising to considerably improve the browsing speed of mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets, offering less latency. Furthermore, such technology will help in the development of the Internet of Things, establishing communication between devices and contributing to the development of smart cities.

Other means will still benefit with the arrival of the fifth generation, such as virtual reality, space computing, and even surgery training for health professionals.

Now, let’s explain to you the advantages of 5G technology for navigation in Brazil and in the world;

FASTER TRANSMISSION RATES; ;

 The 5G internet speed can be up to 1000 times greater than that of 4G, which shows that the technology follows an evolution that has always existed with each new generation. Just between us – this technological advance was really significant, right? With faster download and upload rates, it will be possible to send heavier content. On 5G, the internet will run at rates of 10GB per second. This means that a 4K movie can be downloaded very quickly. Very quickly indeed!

LESS LATENCY TIME;

Have you ever been annoyed by the response delay between the touch on the screen and the effective action of the cell phone? Yes, 5G provides a significant reduction in response time, the famous “latency time”. Nowadays, the latency time for 4G is of 10 milliseconds on average. Meanwhile, on 5G, it is speculated that this time will be reduced by 1 millisecond.

CAPACITY;

The fifth-generation allows more people to connect at the same time without creating instability in navigation. Therefore, simultaneous network usage will improve considerably.

REDUCTION IN BATTERY CONSUMPTION;

When your network fluctuates, your device makes a certain effort to find a more stable signal and this directly interferes with the consumption of the device’s battery. On 5G, battery consumption has been considerably reduced, influencing even thinner batteries.

SMART CITIES

5G will also enable an improvement in people’s lives. Combined with IoT-sized technologies, artificial intelligence, and big data, the fifth generation will contribute to smart cities and even autonomous vehicles.

RELIABILITY;

The reliability of a network is nothing more than its ability to continue working without interruption, even with some kind of failure. In the fifth generation, there is great network reliability, since there are “many pathways” acting so that it works effectively, even if it presents any type of failure.

5G technology is coming to Israel…

The country’s Ministry of Communications has approved four grants totaling 3.4 million NIS to be given to Israeli companies to build a network with 5G technology, and four companies have won the second round of funding from the Ministry’s and the Israel Innovation Authority’s pilot program, in support of the growing use of technology in the country.

The companies chosen were: C4I and Cyber Systems, a department of Elbit Systems, Sightbit, Intelligent Traffic Control (ITC), and RAD Data Communications.

It is worth noting the impact of such technology on Israel’s economy, which according to the Ministry of Communications, will grow significantly with the fifth generation.

The use of technology will make it possible to connect intelligent traffic cameras on the main roads (project by RAD Data Communications) and also aims to operate a decentralized 5G network for Fire and Rescue Services in the country, helping in the most varied scenarios (C4I and Project Cyber).

In Brazil, the implementation of 5G technology is expected to arrive in the second half of 2022, as the auction of networks was approved this year by ANATEL.

Are you looking forward to the implementation of 5G technology? Let’s wait for the impacts of the fifth generation of the internet around the world!
