WATER DESALINATION

Technology has greatly helped Israelis overcome the challenges of water. Evolution started from a need and today, Israel, is known for its cutting-edge technology in removing salt from water. Part of this advance is related to Sorek, Israel’s largest desalination plant, which produces 200 million cubic meters of water per year.

SOLAR HEATING

The system developed by Harry Zvi Tabo has become a reference worldwide, and today, at least 90% of Israeli households use solar energy to heat water. Recently a new high-efficiency receiver has been developed for collecting concentrated sunlight and will also increase the use of solar energy for industrial purposes.

AGRICULTURE IN THE DESERT

Israel is considered the most advanced country in the world in agricultural irrigation, with 100% of the sub-irrigated agricultural land, since more than half of its soil is desert and has no favorable characteristics for agriculture. The industry most prominent technologies include: drip irrigation, intensive agriculture developed in desert soil and dairy production.

Aquecimento Solar

Agricultura no deserto

Israel é considerado o país mais avançado do mundo em irrigação agrícola, possuindo 100% das terras agrícolas sub-irrigadas, já que mais da metade de seu solo é desértico e não possui características propícias para agricultura. As tecnologias de maior destaque do setor incluem: irrigação por gotejamento, agricultura intensiva desenvolvida em solo desértico e produção leiteira.
